On Thursday the 19th, one of the firefighters that works with Chris (Jason), his son Ethan, and the Young's headed to the zoo for some fun!! The kids had a GREAT time and really got along! We noticed that these two kids notice EVERY fire hydrant and would go over to touch them.... poor kids. It was a great day and we cannot wait to do it again!!!

Colorado Trip

We left out house with Ninny and Paco on June 30 and headed to Colorado for vacation. Hannah was a real trooper and had fun in the car. We stopped the first night in Amarillo (5 hours from home), so as not to wear Hannah out in the car. We got to Amarillo and checked into our hotel. We then set out on an adventure. Chris had found an Amarillo brochure in the lobby and wanted to check out the Route 66 historical district (wow - what a disappointment that was)! We found the sign and there is nothing by run down old buildings that were empty and biker bars. So, we headed to dinner and then took a dip in the hotel pool - after that we were fast asleep.

Day 2- We drove from Amarillo to Colorado Springs by way of Raton, NM. (How about that bump in the road - Chris???) We made it to Colorado Springs in time to pick up April and Baby John from the airport. Once we were all crammed in the Durango with luggage, 5 adults and 2 kids in car seats, we headed to Cascade, CO and the Blue Spruce Inn Bed and Breakfast. It was a wonderful place to stay and Linda and Bill were so nice!!!

Day 3 - We visted the Manitou Cliff Dwellings and Cave of the Winds before heading back for lunch and a nap for the kids. Chris and I headed into historic Manitou Springs and walked around and shopped for awhile. We then drove to Woodland Park and had a wonderful dinner at a local mexican food place.

Day 4 - Chris, Paco and I went in to Manitou to catch the Cog train to the top of Pikes Peak. It was an absolutely beautiful (although long) ride to the top. When we arrived at the summit, we were met with SNOW!!!! It was great and we enjoyed a donut at the top.... After the trip back to the station, we picked up Ninny, April and the kiddos and headed to Garden of the Gods. Chris would have loved to have spent the whole time there, but a rain shower sent us to a restaurant (another FABULOUS mexican food place) and back to the cabin.

Day 5 - After we dropped April and John at the airport, we visited the IAFF Fallen Firefighters Museum, the Olympic training center, the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo (where Hannah fed a giraffe and rode her first pony), and then took the treacherous (and I do mean TREACHEROUS) mountain road to Cripple Creek to ride the train. Hannah had so much fun and was such a trooper that day. At this point, if Hannah saw a hill coming - she would immediately turn around and say - "I hold you mommy." She was tired of the hills and steep walkways...

Day 6 - Ninny and Paco headed to Denver to see Paco's aunt Corrine. Hannah, Daddy and I went to Northpole, CO - walking distance from the B&B. Hannah had a blast riding all the rides and visiting with Santa Clause - I was happy because last Christmas she would not go near him - looks like this year will be better. After riding all the rides, we hiked down to the Wines of Colorado restaurant and had a wonderful lunch by Fountain Creek and headed back to the cabin for a nap. Ninny and Paco arrived back from Denver and we all went into Manitou and Hannah rode on all the rides at the open air arcade.

Day 7 - Time to head home - we stopped at Van Briggle Pottery (the oldest pottery art in the US) and loved looking at all the beautiful pieces. Then it was on the road again - needless to say, Hannah was not happy about being in her car seat on this ride home. We took the short route - right Paco and Chris - through Oklahoma and back to Amarillo for the night. Hannah again took a dip in the pool and then to bed.

Day 8 - We slept in and then headed to Palo Duro Canyon where Hannah got to ride on the arm rest between Daddy and Paco - she loved that!!! After the Canyon - it was home to Fort Worth!!!

We had such a great time and made many memories. Hannah woke up this morning asking to play with Ninny, Paco and Baby John and April. I think she will remember this trip for awhile!!

Below are just some of the hundreds of pictures were have from our trip......

Updated pictures of our 2 year old - I know it has been awhile since I posted, so I will just skip all the goings on and post some pictures that I love of Hannah....

Hannah is very into cooking now and wants to help - here she is "cooking" mac-n-cheese... Aren't I cute?????

I swear I didn't do it mom.....
Watching the airplanes fly over the house....

Princess on Ice

Hannah, Grandma, Daddy and I went to see Disney Princess on Ice when it was here in Fort Worth. Hannah did GREAT - I thought we would have to leave after the halfway point, but Hannah was a trooper and did great through the whole show. Here are some pics.....

Chris about had a heart attack when Hannah wanted the "Mermaid cup". It was a snow cone that cost $12 and was in an Ariel cup - he kept commenting that he could have had 3 beers at the ballpark for that price.....
It was a great time - thanks for taking us Grandma....
